According to an article in The New York Times, DDB Needham Worldwide was responsible for the creation of Chester; however, an episode of Unwrapped claims that the mascot was created by Hawley Pratt, the same man behind the Pink Panther.

ChimpoQ! is an original hack based on the engine of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. The game focuses on the original character Chimpo as he travels through one new zone with three levels. For the first level, Speed Slider from Knuckles Chaotix for the 32X has been imported.

Chip can't run fast, roll or jump high, and rings do not protect him from damage. When you die, you will get one of the death messages from Chip's Challenge, and the level will restart with no decrease in your life count.
